New York Mutual Trading, Inc.


Mutual Trading Co., Inc. was founded in 1926. Mutual Trading started to conduct business on the East Coast in 1973 as New York Mutual Trading, Inc. Today Mutual Group has branches in San Diego, San Fransisco, Las Vegas, Arizona, the New England area, Hawaii, Kobe, and Tokyo.

We, New York Mutual Trading, Inc., utilize our own shipping system out of a ten thousand sq. ft warehouse to distribute more than 5,000 items (including Japanese food ingredients, beverages, dishware, and kitchen utensils) direct throughout the tri-state area.
We are also one of the biggest Japanese sake/shochu importers with more than 150 kinds of Japanese premium sake (Jizake) from Japan. We have an in house sake educator and have been expanding the knowledge base regarding Jizake to our customers all over the east coast. We have been conducting staff trainings and tastings for our restaurant customers.

Every fall New York Mutual Trading, Inc. organizes an annual Japanese Food and Restaurant Show for trade businesses in New York City with more than 50 vendors from the U.S. and Japan to highlight new products. We also invite specialists and chefs to conduct seminars and/or cooking demonstrations at the event.

New York Mutual Trading Inc. opened the Japanese Culinary Center in April of 2009 to further continue making great strides for the culinary professional. The Center will have among other things: imported Japanese dishware, high quality cutting tools and a large variety of restaurant supplies. The Japanese Culinary Center also has a test kitchen where cooking classes and sake tastings have been conducted on an ongoing regular basis.
